Premier Credit Union First Schools Quiz
Premier Credit Union Schools Quiz:
Premier Credit Union was delighted to host the 2024 Schools Quiz recently.
This was the first school quiz since the merger between Thurles and Roscrea, making it an exciting and historic occasion.
The quiz took place in the Presentation Secondary School Sports Complex. The credit union would like to thank the school for all the support on the night.
168 students representing schools across the vast common bond that Premier Credit Union now represents competed in the quiz.
After the President Of Premier Credit Union, Amanda Ryan welcomed everyone to the event, CEO Brian king, who was quizmaster for the night, got the show on the road.
There were two competitions on the night, and both were run simultaneously. Competition A was for the students under 11 and competition B was for students under 13.
Following 12 rounds of questions, the winning school of the A Competition was Moycarkey National School, 2nd was Scoil Chrónaín Naofa (Roscrea), and third was Scoil Ailbhe (Thurles).
The winner of the B Competition was Gaelscoil Bhríde (Thurles), 2nd was Moycarkey N.S and third was Scoil Chrónaín Naofa (Roscrea).
After the quiz the credit union was delighted to receive such positive feedback from the parents, supporters, and teachers of those participating. The most important feedback of all came from the students, all of whom enjoyed the evening.
The school's quiz requires a substantial voluntary effort every year. Without that sense of volunteerism and people willing to give up their free time, the quiz simply would not happen.
Thanks again to all who took part and the teachers who helped prepare their students for the event.
The credit union is already looking forward to next year’s quiz. In the interim, we wish all those who have qualified from the local quiz the very best as they now go on to represent their school and credit union at the regional level before hopefully securing a place in the national final in April, which is one of, if not, Ireland’s largest annual quiz.
